Suitable for:

Previous dentistry experience is not necessary but the projects are tailored to your interests and experience. An elective placement will be very different to a Pre-university project. We will ask for a CV and a statement of objectives when you join us so that we can match the project to your experience and aims.

For Dental Outreach Electives:

There is fixed schedule for Dental Outreach Volunteering Elective Projects for the Spring/Summer of 2018. The dates are open for sign up.

Other than the Dental Outreach Projects, please aim to arrive on a Friday afternoon or Saturday morning so that your induction can be conducted on Saturday. You can arrive on other days by appointment but additional fees may apply. Accommodation spaces throughout the year are limited so reserve your space now.

Starts every 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month, separate start date can be allowed in specific cases if pre- arranged with AGP Office

Combining Projects

Any dentistry projects can be combined with any other dentistry electives. There will be only one registration fee for multiples of projects sign up.

Around Good People offers once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for dentists, dental hygienists, dental school students, and pre-dentistry undergraduates to work in bespoke experiential learning dentistry projects.

Around Good People is a grassroots activists’ non-profit organization that provides healthcare volunteer programs for dental undergraduate students, graduate students, residents, and practitioners in the areas that need it the most the inhospitable terrains of mountain Nepal with its forbidding Himalayan mountain. In providing urgently needed oral health care assistance to the people in these regions, we help participants gain valuable exposure to dentistry in most difficult challenging environment through an ethics-based approach to care. We strictly adhere to the protocol and guidelines set out by the ADEA and ADA for international dental volunteering by students. Our programs also allow volunteers the opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty and culture of the exotic holiday destination of Nepal. Founded on the principles of community partnership and self-help with the assistance of international volunteering AGP provides a safe and mutually beneficial experience where students can make a meaningful contribution to disadvantaged populations throughout the nooks and corners of the Himalayan Nepal.
