The AGP Dental Outreach Programme will give you an insight into life and dentistry in Nepal that you haven’t imagined before. It truly an experience of a lifetime and something I would recommend for dental students! Embrace the opportunity and experiences you have whilst on the trip, keep an open mind, and you will really enjoy the trip a whole lot more.

Did I feel benefitted from this project? Absolutely. Especially as I hadn’t seen patients previously, there were huge challenges that I was able to overcome, which inspires confidence in myself and makes seeing patients in the future much less daunting.
Didn’t know what to expect but was a great Experience.

The part about clinic set up- the activity at the end of project and travel opportunities I think were absolutely fantastic. It just depends on the individuals’ amount of available time to travel as well.

I definitely benefitted from this project. Volunteering with AGP gave me the opportunity to experience a different culture that I may not have got to experience otherwise. I was able to see how dental care is provided in a country with limited resources, which provides skills I may use in the future if I work in more remote areas.

In Early 2014 I made a split second decision to participate in the dental outreach undertaken by Around Good People. I wanted an adventure before my holidays finished, by participating in the outreach not only did I get that but have made many lifelong friends, while getting dental experience and the satisfaction of helping others. It was truly a life changing experience and one that I will never forget.”
